So as a person who loves fashion and the planet earth, there is often a clash with what I need during a fashion season and what is good for the environment.
I find that I have too many clothes, shoes, accessories, bags and wigs (yes, wigs!), I am fortunate enough to have great friends and family who help me clear my wardrobe for new things, I know, I actually have issues… Anyway, I love to use unique pieces to create more outfits. This is a post on how I have worn my red hat which is a simple accessory in five ways.
If you do not know by now, I am a hat, headwrap kind of girl, I think it’s because I am really trying to hide my big head from the world! Uhrm, obviously I’m just joking, or am I!!! Oh yeah, back to my thing for hats, I find this is often the best accessory that can be used to finish an outfit. I bet you have yours too, could it be a pair of court shoes, a bag, jewellery? You can literally plan several outfits with that one item. I have too many other items that have been recycled to create outfits which I will also post on the blog, so be sure to stay tuned.
My best type of hat is any hat with an extremely wide brim, the brim is very important to me as I can often hide in the roundness of the hat…
Oh, what a year it has been, I have read more books, been to more countries, gotten married twice (to the same man lol).
I have also lost my confidence in myself and am slowly gaining it. Well, all in all, life has been great and to have many reasons for living is also a massive bonus.
This is just a post of the sum of my year.
Happy new year all.

Hello and welcome,
I find myself being in conflict with myself most times. Because I know who I am, and what I look like, sometimes, I look at myself in the mirror and hate what I see. Most people say we were not born to know the difference between race, gender, body types etc. However, some have grown up believing in so many false descriptions of who they are or what they should be.
“Oh, you should not eat this or that, can’t you see your mother and her genes, you will end up like that, UGLY!” or “if you bleach your skin you will be marriable” or “when you are in a room with 6 men, 5 of them will want to sleep with you”. Don’t you just find it funny that your beauty is the same thing that causes people to assume you are dumb? Or being comfortable with your curves and your body is the reason why you should be raped.
So, Culture is the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society. For culture to work it starts with one person’s behaviour which eventually spread like a wildfire.
What is my current culture of fashion? well this is a long list of things but these are a few;
- I am not FAT
- I am not an UGLY BLACK GIRL
- I do not need to be PERFECT
- My style is my STYLE
- I know my pocket and what I CAN AFFORD
- Everyone cannot love me but I a few people who REALLY LOVE ME
Today a couple of ladies said to me they liked my hair and the way I styled it, I extended my gratitude to them and added that natural hair is hard work, immediately they replied explaining to me how my hair is only 80% natural because I dyed it. I was taken aback by that statement and tried to compose my words wisely.
I was so upset by the statement; I really want to know this; does the fact I wear makeup mean am not a natural woman? I really wanted to say more like if they want to be natural then they should strip themselves of the things that make an individual 80% natural. In fact, why not go out naked and let’s all see you in your natural glory, yeah? (please don’t do that)
Hello, In case you have you not noticed, I love my skirts. I can wear skirts from now till thy kingdom come. This is just a couple of looks on how I styled my pleated skirt.
